The noise level is further reduced at lower running speed. Sinemaster digital inverter generators have a new two-tiered noise dampening system, so the noise emitted by these generators is dB less than traditional generators.
This translates to 4 to 8 times quieter than conventional generators.
A 3 dB drop in noise level represents the half amount on the actual noise. This meets the new noise ordinances that some state and national parks have adopted. The problem is that it is the display model. The manager on duty said that they could sell it to me "as is" meaning that I couldn't return it to the store.
I checked at another Pep Boys in San Antonio, and they don't have any. As a matter of fact, they checked their database, and it shows that there aren't any available at any Pep Boys in Texas.
I called the manager on duty at the first store that had the display model to see how much more he would discount this last unit. He said that I would need to contact the store manager tomorrow. I'll let you know what I find out. The sticker on the top of the generator identifies it as being manufactured by Kipor. Robert Earl Keen. If so, then even if I never got the rebate, it'll still be worth it.
The reviews I read on Amazon and elsewhere were all mostly positive. One even said it ran quieter than the Honda! Posted 02 January - AM Good luck finding one. I just got off the phone with the only location in Phoenix that supposedly had one according to the Pep Boys website. But it turns out that no stores in the Phoenix area do. IF you aren't running your microwave at the same time.
The user feedback on the Amazon website was favorable. Posted 02 January - AM This generator has a sticker on it that states " I don't know what the start-up amps are for Casita's AC, but my guess is that it's more than this unit will provide.
I bought it 2 years ago and have not used it much. We usually camp with hookups. I have been happy with it.
It will run a watt hair dryer, a watt heater, my small chest freezer, etc. It is very quiet.
Honda 2000i / Kipor 2000 Inverter Clone for $249
It will run our DVD, laptop computer, television and other sensitive electronics. I plan to replace the window AC in my trailer with a new unit with a I think the difference is in the electronics.
The Honda has a delay in its overload sensor that allows about 3 seconds before it cuts off. This lets the compressor get going.
Kipor generator manual 2000 times
The Kipor McCulloch cuts off the instant it senses overload. Perhaps the newer Kipors are not like mine. I don't know. But, unless the seller is willing to let you power up a sample generator for a test; I would be very cautious about thinking this one will run your AC.
Tom Trostel. Only one in San Antonio Sounds like a "loss Leader", just something to get you into the store. Posted 02 January - PM My dad used to say something like if it sounds too good, then its not too good Maybe there is a reason why everyone buys a Honda instead of a Kipor. I have never had a problem with my Honda, and glad I paid extra for quality and peace of mind.
Oh well my 2 cents worth Have a great day Hall.

However, you usually get what you pay for if you are careful , and country of origin is not necessarily the deciding factor. Whew, I feel better now that I have registered some slight disagreement. What really makes me question them is Bob's saying that their specifications were exactly the same as those of the Honda. Is it possible that the manufacturer simply copied the written specifications verbatum? It is so unlikely that two manufacturers would come up with any two products that had exactly the same specifications, even if one is trying to copy the other.
It is far easier to copy their words Having said that, at the prices at which they are offered, I can understand why folks would be interested Edited by redwards, 02 January - PM. Posted 02 January - PM i think some of the people here remember that the words "made in japan" usually meant junk, that was until they copied ,perfected and made improvements to our products and technology.
